My love of ceramics comes from a deep pleasure in having a physical relationship with something as fundamental and yet versatile and clever as clay. I hope my work shares with you some of my sense of the earthy and the playful. My respect for craft and simplicity is partnered with a commitment to the inevitable quirks and that make each individually thrown piece unique and no match with any other.

The work I am now able to produce has developed over 28 years of exploring and refining the basic skills I learned from my mentors in many disciplines: BA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology (1971 - 1975); BA in Ceramic Arts, Alfred University (1983 -1986); MFA in Sculpture, Southern Illinois University (1986 - 1989).
