January 6 - February
13, 2003

This Century Art
Gallery will open its newest show
on January 6, 2004 presenting a collection
of paintings by Carrie Patterson,
award-winning instructor of Two Dimensional
Foundations at The College of William
and Mary. Employing a limited range
of colors, Carrie’s abstract
paintings give expression to the
experience of inhabiting space through
using memories of light and form.
Art and architecture serve as the
primary sources of her current work.
The show will continue through February
13th.
Ms. Patterson received
an MFA in painting in 1998 from the
University of Pennsylvania. She has
exhibited in galleries all over the
country including New York City,
Philadelphia, Florida, California
and, presently, at the Muscarelle
Museum of Art in Williamsburg. The
recipient of numerous awards and
grants for further study, she most
recently received a Virginia Governor’s
Fellowship to the Virginia Center
for the Creative Arts in 2003.
