"Conversations" is a series I began
in 1993. Since then, the process has expanded to include drawing,
mixed media, acrylic, monotype and etching. A universal theme
of interaction is expressed by figures locked into the moment
of communication. By using gesture, body language and negative
space, a way is opened for the viewer to enter, bringing their
own personal history. With this participataion, each piece becomes
menaingful on an individual basis. The concept continues to open
doors for me in the areas of content and formal issues.
Educated at James Madison University and the University of Georgia,
Pat began painting at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia.
Starting in 1976, she was the Staff Artist for the Waynesboro
News Virginian until 1985, when she resumed her studies. She
continues to study at Beverly Street Studio School and in workshop
programs with well known artists. |
